Weilburg, Germany: 17-06-05 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Astronaut Tour at the Hessentag Arena in Weilburg, Germany on 17 June 2005.

About the albumEdit

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Hessentag Arena, located in a town with just under 14,000 inhabitants. The show was part of the 'Hessentag', a local event that takes part in the German state Hessen every year.

Watched by 8,000 spectators, Duran Duran opened their show with a rock version of "(Reach Up for The) Sunrise" that was different to the Astronaut album version. Soon Andy Taylor was performing the watery guitar chords of "Come Undone", music written and recorded by Warren Cuccurullo for The Wedding Album.

The ballad "Chains" was the third track taken from Astronaut during the evening. "Ordinary World" followed, one of Duran Duran’s biggest radio hits post 1986.

"Rio" served as the evening’s grand finale, with Andy Hamilton on saxophone.

Opening acts for the show were singers Lisa Stansfield (from Lancashire, UK), and Kaylou (from Gjerlev, Denmark).

Tickets for the event cost € 33,00.
