Duran Duran with Mark Ronson - Paris

War Child: Heroes is a compilation album featuring Duran Duran, released by Parlophone on 16 February 2009.

About the album[]

The album brought together 15 contemporary artists of the music industry to record cover versions of classic tracks by 15 musical acts, who have collectively sold more than 1.4 billion albums.

This is a War Child project to help children who live with the affects of war, and is the charity organisation's fifth album since Help was released in 1995.

The album was recorded over six months in studios in London, Manchester, Paris, Berlin, New York and Los Angeles, with mastering production work done at Abbey Road studios in London.

Included on the album is the James Bond theme "Live And Let Die" performed by Welsh singer Duffy, plus the Scissor Sisters covering Roxy Music's "Straight To Hell".

Bonus download tracks:
These include a live performance by Duran Duran with Mark Ronson of a James Bond medley recorded at La Cigale theatre in Paris, France during the Experience Paris show on 2 July 2008. This was the first time Ronson and the band had played together. The live arrangement combines "A View To A Kill" with a unique instrumental medley of three other Bond movie songs: "Goldfinger" "Diamonds Are Forever", and "You Only Live Twice". This arrangement was later performed by the band during The Summer Tour in 2009, including the Edinburgh Castle Concert.
