V Festival 08: Australia was a four day music festival, held at four locations between March and April 2008. The event featured Duran Duran's debut appearance at the festival.

About the festivalEdit

This was a spin-off to the British V Festival, primarily sponsored by Virgin Mobile and also sponsored in Australia by the airline Virgin Blue. MTV and its sister channel VH-1 televised the event exclusively in Australia.

Duran Duran performed at all four locations, as part of a seven date Australian Red Carpet Massacre Tour.

The band generally began each Red Carpet Massacre Tour concert with "The Valley", but the four festival shows began with "(Reach Up for The) Sunrise". The festival included Duran Duran headlining the That Stage in Sydney.

The festival also featured The Smashing Pumpkins, a band Simon Le Bon performed with in 1998.
