Torino 2006 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded at the Winter Olympics Games, Piazza Castello (Medal Plaza) in Turin, Italy on 15 February 2006.

About the album Edit

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Piazza Castello, the main square in Turin. This was the seventh show performed in Italy since the beginning of The Astronaut Tour, a period which also included an appearance at Live 8: Rome.

The concert began immediately after the awarding of Olympic medals. Duran Duran took to the stage wearing winter fashion and kicked off with "(Reach Up for The) Sunrise". The crowd was enthusiastic as the band followed with "Planet Earth".

With Simon Le Bon wearing gloves and John Taylor keeping warm with a scarf, the band played the ever reflective "Ordinary World". "Sound of Thunder" unfolded into "Hold Back the Rain". During "The Wild Boys", Le Bon had problems with his voice, probably due to the cold conditions.

Near the end of the show, "Girls on Film" featured band introductions and fans chanted "Play the f--king bass John!". The evening closed with "Rio".
