Thank You 2: Originals is an unofficial Duran Duran related compilation album, featuring tracks by various artists.
About the album[]
In April 1995, Duran Duran released Thank You. This was a cover song album, which was an attempt to keep the peace among band members who had increasing trouble writing music together.
This album features the original songs covered by Duran Duran on Thank You, which were recorded by various artists.
Included is a cover version Lou Reed's "Perfect Day", plus David Bowie's "Diamond Dogs".
The Thank You album also includes "Drive By", an alternate version of "The Chauffeur" performed by Duran Duran. This track has been described as an introduction to the original song, released on Rio.
The seven bonus tracks feature two cover songs performed by The Power Station, including "Taxman" originally released by The Beatles.
