About the albumEdit
The album is an incomplete recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Verizon Theatre, a 6,350 capacity venue located in a suburb between Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas. This was the band's first show of 2011.
The Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam was an event connected with the Super Bowl XLV, an American football game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers which took place 3 days later at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on 6 February 2011. Duran Duran had previously performed at the Superbowl XXXV111 Tailgate Party in Houston during 2004.
Fans braved the weather on this Thursday night to head out to the Verizon Theater for the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam – one of many concerts and parties held this week for the Super Bowl. The show was broadcast live (in parts) on VH-1. The planned line-up was Jason Derulo, then Duran Duran and finally Kid Rock.
Duran Duran actually began the show just before 7:00pm, pre-taping much of their performance that would air later during the broadcast at 8:00pm. Opening with "A View to a Kill", the setlist included a mix of 80s hit singles such as "Hungry Like the Wolf", "Notorious", "Girls on Film", performed with some of their new songs which they played for the very first time in front of a live audience, like "Girl Panic!" and "Being Followed".
- "Being Followed"
- "Hungry Like the Wolf"
- "All You Need Is Now"
- "Girl Panic!"
