Simon Le Bon's Lyric Book is an unreleased book featuring hand written lyrics by Simon Le Bon from the late 1970s to the early 1980s.

About the bookEdit

This is a standard European size A4 bound book, featuring one of the names of Simon Le Bon's former bands (Rov Ostrov) written on the front cover.

The pages are lined feint, which were originally designed for keeping ledgers. This was Le Bon's lyric book from 1977 until 1983.

Le Bon's friend Pete Johns, fellow band-member in his pre-Duran Duran bands - Dog Days and Rov Ostrov, bought it. Subsequently, it was the main lyric book in those outfits.

Simon Le Bon carried the book around for some years, during which time he went to art school; worked in a hospital; lived on a kibbutz in the Negev Desert; Started a course in drama at Birmingham University and eventually became a member of Duran Duran.

Open the book, and inside there are lyrics for songs Le Bon sang and played on guitar. These songs pre-date him joining Duran Duran. They include "Sound of Thunder", "Night Boat", "Careless Memories" and "The Chauffeur"; as well as, the never recorded, "Beverly Hills" and "Underneath the Clocktower".
