“Shelter” is the eleventh track off of Duran Duran’s 1993 self titled album. The song is said to be about a man beckoning for a woman to be with him, as she is struggling, and looks like she needs someone.
Written by Duran Duran, the demo version was called "Shelter of My Heart".
The track was written during a period when Duran Duran retreated to Warren Cuccurullo's London home and studio, after disappointing sales figures for the Liberty album.

The artwork for this track, which appears in the album booklet/insert, is a photograph by Nick Rhodes snapped from a taxi window; which was taken near Queensgate, Kensington in North London; probably around June of 1992 (Source), (Source). The black and white photograph shows the side of an old building in a dilapidated state, perhaps serving as a shelter for the homeless. Below the building are a number of concert posters, one of which shows an Elton John and Eric Clapton collaboration event, which took place 26th-28th of June 1992, at Wembley Stadium, London.
