San Diego 2005 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Astronaut Tour at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, CA, USA on 25 February 2005.

About the albumEdit

The album is an incomplete recording of Duran Duran's performance at the San Diego Sports Arena, a 14,800 capacity venue located on Sports Arena Blvd in Point Loma. This was the first of four shows performed in the state of California on the tour.

Duran Duran kicked off the show at 9:00pm with "(Reach Up for The) Sunrise", the first single taken from Astronaut. The second song "Hungry Like the Wolf" got the audience on their feet, and is where they stayed for most of the night (at least in the lower levels).

As the setlist unfolded, Duran Duran performed tracks from the Rio album, including B-sides like “Hold Back the Rain” and the haunting “The Chauffeur”.

The 2-hour set was balanced between hits, fan favorites, and new songs. Of the new songs, "Chains" and "What Happens Tomorrow" were played. "Planet Earth" rocked the house, driven by Roger Taylor's pounding beats and "Careless Memories" was accompanied by an anime created by Japanese illustrator Fumio Obata.

The bootleg is incomplete, missing the last 10 songs from the show including the encore of "White Lines", "Girls on Film" and "Rio".
