Roskilde 2005 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Astronaut Tour at the Roskilde Festival in Roskilde, Denmark on 2 July 2005.

About the albumEdit

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the 2005 Roskilde Festival, an event held between 26 June and 3 July. The festival is one of the five biggest in Europe, with 2005 featuring over 160 musical acts and attracting 97,000 people.

In Culture: July 2011 Andy Taylor described the day at Roskilde, adding that it would live long in the memory. The band had earlier played Live 8 in Rome and jumped on a plane to Scandinavia, to perform their second set of the day. When they arrived at the Roskilde Festival, the Foo Fighters were on stage and finished with a cover version of "Rio".

Taking to the stage for their first appearance at the Roskilde Festival, Duran Duran opened with "(Reach Up for The) Sunrise", the first single released by the original band members for almost 20 years. "Hungry Like the Wolf" and a cover version of "White Lines" followed.

Throughout the night, the band mixed most of their greatest hits with new songs. In total, three tracks from Astronaut were played.

Tickets for the event cost 1250kr.
