About the albumEdit

Originally released on RCA Records in 1960, the album is the soundtrack to the 1960 film Rocco E I Suoi Fratelli (Rocco and His Brothers) directed by Luchino Visconti. Set in Milan, the film tells the story of an immigrant family from the South and its disintegration in the society of the industrial North.

The soundtrack was composed by Nino Rota, an Italian composer and academic who wrote more than 150 scores from the 1930s until his death in 1979.
