Richard Myhill is a British singer-songwriter, musician, composer, producer and arranger, originally from Chorleywood, Hertfordshire, who worked on Duran Duran tracks in the early 1980s.

Biography[]

In the 1970s and early 80s, Richard enjoyed a successful solo career as a singer-songwriter, releasing his debut album 21 Days In Soho in 1975. In 1978, he had two hit singles, including "It Takes Two To Tango", which was available as a square 7" vinyl record. After several more singles, Richard began to concentrate more on composing, producing and arranging music.

In 1981, producer Colin Thurston approached Richard to work on string arrangements for Duran Duran's "Tel Aviv", which was the first time the band used an orchestra for their recordings. This was followed by string arrangements on the single version of "My Own Way", as well as the Night Version and instrumental (Night Version Companion features the instrumental).

Ever since he had worked with Duran Duran, Richard has been credited on many film and TV soundtracks, including the use of his "Trans-Am Highway" as the opening and closing theme song for World Championship Wrestling's popular Saturday night broadcasts on US television throughout the late 1980's.
