Planet Earth (promo) is a promotional-only Duran Duran single, released in the USA by Harvest Records during 1981.

About the single Edit

The single was produced in 7" and 12" vinyl versions, which were used to promote Duran Duran's debut LP Duran Duran. The promotional singles were given to radio stations prior to its country's release during 1981.

7" version:
Issued in a company/black sleeve, the 7" version plays the same track both sides. This is the Radio Version of "Planet Earth".

12" version:
The 12" version features two versions of "Planet Earth". These are the Club Version and the Radio Version, which plays at 33rpm. The record was released in a unique picture sleeve featuring a photo of Duran Duran, with an image of planet Earth surrounded by stars. There were also bio-facts of the band printed on the reverse.
