"Mr. J" is a promotional-only single by John Taylor, released in Japan by Cutting Edge / Avex Records during 2000.

About the single Edit

This is an extremely limited single featuring a song written by John Taylor, who also co-produced the track with Matthew Hager. The track features Gerry Laffy on guitar, who first worked with Duran Duran on their "Planet Earth" video in 1981 and later toured with John Taylor.

An early version of the song was recorded in 1992 at the home of Taylor, just before the release of The Wedding Album. The early version was included on the Meltdown album. The 2001 Techno For Two album features an evolved version.

The CD was released with a custom yellow picture insert.
