Boom Town Rats
Mike Owen is a British photographer, whose work has included photographing Duran Duran.
Mike's photography career began during the 1980s, and has now spanned more than 25 years. He originally started out in the music business photographing among others Spandau Ballet, Erasure, Dusty Springfield, Boomtown Rats, Simply Red, Fine Young Cannibals, Marc Almond, Kylie Minogue and Duran Duran, with his photograph of the band featuring on the front cover of the live Arena album released in 1984.
He has directed several music videos most recently for Annie Lennox. Mike has achieved success in the fashion, beauty & advertising industry, shooting for numerous magazines including; Vanity Fair, Marie-Clair, Harpers, Italian Vogue, Esquire and Cosmoplitan.
In recent years Mike has been working extensively in the world of celebrities and has been fortunate enough to photograph numerous famous faces including; Luciano Pavarotti, Dame Shirley Bassey, Joan Collins, Keira Knightly, Sienna Miller, Anna Friel and David Beckham.
Mike has also appeared on several television shows and was the guest photographer on four series of the Channel 4 show How to Look Good Naked with celebrity stylist Gok Wan.
