Manchester '87 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Strange Behaviour Tour at the Apollo Theatre in Manchester, UK on 27 April 1987.

About the albumEdit

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Apollo Theatre, a 3,500 capacity venue located in Stockport Road, Ardwick Green. This was the fourth of twelve shows performed in the UK on the tour.

The evening began at 7:30pm with opening act John Adams, warming up the crowd with his style of rock.

From the minute Simon Le Bon, John Taylor and Nick Rhodes walked onto the stage, it was all systems go. Members of the audience screamed when Duran Duran launched into the first song "A View to a Kill".

The 10-strong band line-up included Stan Harrison and Curtis King Jr., two musicians who played on The Power Station album.

A tidal wave of hits, tracks from Notorious and fan favorites followed, as video screens projected various images of the band.

Near the end of the show whilst performing "The Wild Boys", Simon Le Bon cut his head open on one of the drum cymbals as he leapt from the back of the stage.

The show finished with "The Reflex", with Le Bon encouraging the crowd to sing the intro.

Tickets for the event cost from around £11.00.

The album front cover features Duran Duran photography by Matthew Rolston.
