About the song[]
The song was released as the first single from the album Belinda in 1986 and was the first CD single ever marketed. It was her first hit after leaving The Go-Go's, peaking at Number 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and at Number 1 on the Canadian Singles Chart.
The year that the song was released, Carlisle married Morgan Mason, who appears with Belinda in the video for "Mad About You". The guitar solo on the song was performed by Andy Taylor, who also appears in the video directed by Leslie Libman.
