MTV Sonic is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded at the Rolling Stone in Milan, Italy on 31 March 2000.
About the album[]
The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Rolling Stone, a venue located at Via Corso XXII Marzo 32 in Milan.
Broadcast in Europe, Sonic was presented by MTV. Luana Salvatore of the Duran Duran Italian RioCarnival fanzine distributed free tickets to its readers for the show.
With an intimate stage surrounded by screens on three sides, Duran Duran opened the show with their debut single "Planet Earth".
After the second song "Hungry Like the Wolf", Duran Duran showcased the unreleased "Someone Else Not Me". The track would later be released as the band's 30th single and feature on the Pop Trash album in 2000.
During the evening "Electric Barbarella" was played, the first track that was legally available for purchased as a digital download on the Internet.
