The album is a collection of songs by various artists, which is part of a series that also includes the titles R&B, Rock, and Hip Hop. The compilation features tracks that all received considerable airplay on MTV.

Spandau Ballet are included, a band who appeared with Duran Duran on Pop Quiz in the 1980s. Gary Numan was part of The Devils' Live Music Hall, Cologne show on 17 February 2003.
