London O2 Arena: 3 July 2008 is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Red Carpet Massacre Tour at the O2 Arena in London, UK on 3 July 2008.

About the albumEdit

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the O2 Arena, a 20,000 seat venue that opened the previous year for concerts. This was the first of four UK shows on the tour.

Duran Duran began their UK tour with several minutes of foreboding music, dramatic claps of thunder and searchlights sweeping over the crowd. Finally appearing on a short stretch of red carpet, in front of a Gothic, Gotham-like backdrop to perform their first song "The Valley", a new track from the Red Carpet Massacre album.

Missing from the bootleg is the electro set. This was 20 minutes midway through the show when the core foursome all lined up in classic Kraftwerk-style, working feverishly on their laptops as syncopated lights swirled behind them. "All She Wants Is", "I Don't Want Your Love" and "Skin Trade" were amongst a handful of songs that scored robotic rock makeovers.

After the electro set, Duran Duran returned to play further hits such as "Notorious" and "Ordinary World". "(Reach Up for the) Sunrise", a relatively new track, kept the crowd enthralled. An encore featuring "Rio" finished the show.

Ticket prices for the event cost around £45.00 plus a £5.75 booking fee.

The concert poster features Duran Duran photography by Stephanie Pistel.
