London 1987: First Night is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Strange Behaviour Tour at Wembley Arena in London, UK on 18 May 1987.

About the albumEdit

The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at Wembley Arena, a 12,500 capacity indoor venue located opposite Wembley Stadium. This was the first of three shows performed at Wembley Arena on the tour.

The evening began at 7:30pm with John Adams, backed by a band featuring drummer Mel Gaynor from Simple Minds.

Led by lead singer Simon Le Bon, Duran Duran's ten-strong ensemble opened with "A View to a Kill", a song played at Live Aid several years earlier.

The band got a loud response from the crowd when they followed with "Notorious", a no.7 hit on the UK Singles Chart.

During the evening, Duran Duran played a cross section from their catalogue of material, including seven songs from their latest release Notorious.

The band closed the show with a reggae version of "The Reflex".

Tickets for the event cost from around £12.00.
