It Just Happens That Way is Mindi Abair's second studio album, released by Verve Records on 25 February 2003. The album features John Taylor.

About the albumEdit

The album is Mindi Abair's jazz debut, which she plays alto and soprano saxophones, keyboards, vox, and wind chimes. She is also known for her featured solos on tour with bands such as the Backstreet Boys and Duran Duran.

It Just Happens That Way includes a cover of Eagle-Eye Cherry's "Save Tonight", that showcases her inviting vocals, which are reminiscent of Norah Jones and Sheryl Crow. Abair co-wrote all but one of the CD's tracks, including "Save the Last Dance," "Flirt" and "Lucy's". John Taylor performs on "It Just Happens That Way" and as guest vocal on "Save Tonight".

Other musicians include drummer Steve Ferrone and Red Carpet Massacre credited Matthew Hager, who has also worked with John Taylor.

The tracks were recorded at Castle Oaks in Calabasas, California and 76 Steps Studios in Hollywood, California in August 2002.
