Happy Xmas 1987 from Duran Duran is a limited edition promotion-only collectors set, produced in Japan by Bandai during 1987.

About the collectors setEdit

The Palettacom(TM) boxes were first introduced in Japan by Bandai in 1985, with a separate US trademark being granted in 1986 - & are a combination stationery set & puzzle box; ie the stationery items are shaped to form the puzzle.

They were made in a limited number of different coloured boxes & Palettacom stickers - with the Duran Duran set being black plastic, with both green hinges & front clasp, & an in-set black Palettacom sticker on the front - however the best information available is that contents were always identical. So it is only the "Happy Xmas 1987 from DURAN*DURAN" sticker on the front which is unique to the Duran Duran version.

The box itself (minus the protruding hinges & clasp) is approximately 11cm x 11cm x 2cm.
