Live In Glasgow is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, recorded during The Rio Tour at the Apollo Theatre in Glasgow, UK on 31 October 1982.
About the album[]
The album is an incomplete recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Apollo Theatre, a 3,500 capacity venue located at 126 Renfield Street in Glasgow. The show was the second date of twenty seven performed in the UK on the tour.
After performing at Tiffany's in Glasgow on 5 July 1981, Duran Duran returned to the city for their second time. This show was also Duran Duran's first and only at the Apollo Theatre which closed in 1985, with the band later using the Glasgow Barrowland venue.
This recording was taken from a radio broadcast, which features a DJ speaking between several tracks. The album is a rare chance to listen to a different performance of "Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me)" during The Rio Tour, instead of the Live at Hammersmith '82! version.
Tickets for the event cost around £4.50.
The album front cover features Duran Duran photography by Gered Mankowitz.
