The concert Edit
Held at Edinburgh Castle in Scotland, the show opened during a spell of torrential rain which saw singer Simon Le Bon and keyboard player Nick Rhodes perform "The Wild Boys" dressed in A Clockwork Orange-movie themed suits and top hats. Simon Le Bon teased the audience with the words "Are you dry enough yet?, or are you getting wetter?" then performed a setlist that included many songs from the Red Carpet Massacre album.
The second song "Hold Back the Rain" had the audience seeing the funny side of this aptly-titled track.
"Election Day", a song written in 1985 was sung, with Simon Le Bon" saying that the track had "never" been performed live before (band had actually performed it as part of a medley on tour between 1987-89).
When Duran Duran reappeared for the encore, they featured record producer Mark Ronson on guitar and performed a James Bond-movie medley including "A View to a Kill". This was followed by a medley of "Planet Earth", "Girls on Film" and "Le Freak".
