Duran Duran - In Person is an unofficial Duran Duran live album, featuring two shows performed during the 1980s.

About the album Edit

15 November 1982 - Hammersmith Odeon, London, UK:
The first 10-tracks were recorded during The Rio Tour at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, UK on 15 November 1982.

Highlights of this show were broadcast by BBC Radio in 1982 using the BBC Rock Hour 404 vinyl album. There was also a later version aired on the BBC Rock Hour 83, which was the same show but with a longer intro.

This recording features a faster version of "Lonely In Your Nightmare" and an energetic performance of "Friends of Mine". This concert has also been released on many other bootlegs including Religion.

30 June 1989 - Leysin, Switzerland:
The final part of the album are tracks from the Leysin Rock Festival, Leysin, Switzerland on 30 June 1989.

This was the first of five summer festivals performed by Duran Duran in 1989. The others were the Puerto Real Festival (Spain), Malaga Festival (Spain), The Belga Beach Festival (Belgium), and the Skanderborg Festival (Denmark). These shows featured Duran Duran performing various special songs in each of them.

Taken from a radio broadcast, the album includes two female radio presenters talking between each song. The recording features "The Chauffeur", a song which wasn't performed during the previous Big Live Thing Tour.

At the sound check for the show, Duran Duran played "Edelweiss" from the 1959 movie A Sound of Music. The film was based in Austria, with the final scene showing the von Trapp family climbing over the Alps into Switzerland.
