Presented by New York born Dick Clark, the album was used for licence broadcast on December 8, 1984, featuring the US Top 30 singles, with flashback tracks by Barbara Streisand and Hall & Oates. Issued with cue sheets and a letter to radio stations that outlined the radio format, the recording also features commercials and interviews with several of the Top 30 artists.
The compilation includes Duran Duran's "The Wild Boys", a single which reached no.2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was the only studio track on the live album Arena. Also featured is Prince, an artist Duran Duran supported in concert during August 1993.
