Demo 1979-85 is an unofficial compilation album, featuring a collection of Duran Duran demo recordings.

About the albumEdit

The tracks included on the album were recorded by two Duran Duran line-ups. The first four recordings are also available on the 1979 Demo album, with vocals performed by Andy Wickett. This includes an early version of "Girls on Film", a song Wickett wrote lyrics for whilst working on the night shift at Cadbury's chocolate factory in Birmingham.

The compilation also includes four versions of the 1985 single "A View To A Kill". Version 1 is the oldest and the majority of the songs lyrics are different from the final release. The chorus lyrics are 'Jump Out of the Fire' instead of 'Dance into the Fire' and the music is very simple with no effects.

"We Need You" is a Notorious album related track, written about Andy Taylor and released as the B-side to "Skin Trade".
