Dean Chamberlain is a photographer who specializes in unique lighting effects and extended exposure times (up to five hours), creating luminous and colorful images -- one of his exhibitions was aptly titled "Painting With Light Through Time and Space". His work has been featured in galleries worldwide, and he has served as artist-in-residence and guest lecturer at several prestigious universities and art schools. He graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1977.

Chamberlain has taken photographs for David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Debbie Harry, Madonna, Berlin, Marshall Crenshaw, Roy Orbison and Stan Getz.

He worked extensively with Duran Duran, Arcadia, and Missing Persons. He received an MTV Breakthrough Award for directing music videos for Arcadia ("Missing"), Duran Duran ("All She Wants Is") and Paul McCartney ("This One").

He is the co-founder and co-director of the Light Space Gallery in Venice, California, founded in 2001. Dean also created a series of portraits called "Psychedelic Pioneers" which are being sold as a fund-raising effort for the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies.
