Brett Tuggle is an American keyboardist, vocalist and guitarist, who has worked with musical artists including Andy Taylor.
Brett grew up in Denver, Colorado and his journey into the world of music began as a young child when his mother bought a piano for the house. He and his brother Kent took weekly classical piano lessons, which gave Brett a great foundation for music and a real appreciation for the instrument. Later on he realised he wanted to play in a band, sing and write songs when he heard The Beatles, with financial help from his grandfather he bought a guitar and organ which allowed Brett to play with different local Denver bands.
When Brett was nineteen he was in a group called Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, which was his first real touring band and soon they were working with producer Bob Ezrin making a record. Years of touring followed and he moved to Texas becoming a member of Head First. In 1979 producer Keith Olsen saw the band and advised Brett to go to Los Angeles and meet a guitar player he just heard who needed a singer/keyboardist and so moved to L.A. where he has lived ever since.
Brett has played with Van Halen, followed by David Lee Roth which included Steve Vai on guitar, Billy Sheehan on bass and Gregg Bissonette on drums. He has also worked with Mick Fleetwood and contributed to Andy Taylor's first studio album Thunder.
