About the album
Edit
The album is a collection of unreleased, alternate mixes, out-takes and totally different song versions released on Duran Duran's Astronaut album in 2004. The only song on this CD to have received an official release is "Virus", which appears as a bonus track on the Japanese version of Astronaut.
Beautiful Colours also includes an unlisted hidden audio recording of a video webcast featuring Duran Duran sending a virtual Christmas message to their fans. Track 11 reveals that the song "Silent Icy River" was once part of the song "What Happens Tomorrow" and would eventually become the B-side to this 2005 single.
The CD was released in a jewel case with unique front and back artwork, and the track listings mistakenly omits "Know It All". Cover photography is by Richard Haughton.
