About the album
Edit
The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the Palacio Municipal de Los Deportes, a 8,000 capacity venue located in Barcelona at the foot of the mountain of Montjuic. This was the last of three shows performed in Spain on the tour.
Touring Spain for the first time, Simon Le Bon, John Taylor and Nick Rhodes took to stage at 8:00pm in a 10-strong band line-up.
As the crowd cheered, Duran Duran then burst into the Bernard Edwards produced "A View to a Kill", a single released in Spain as "Panorama Para Matar" with a slightly different Assorted iMaGes designed record sleeve (006 200630 7).
More hits followed, including "Union of the Snake" from 1983. Before playing a cover version of Arcadia's "Election Day", Duran Duran delivered their current single "Meet El Presidente".
Tickets for the event cost around 2,300 Spanish Pesetas.
The album front cover and ticket features photography by John Swannell.
Duran Duran would return to Barcelona the following year for the Studio 54 show, held on 16 November 1988.
