Housed in a plain white sleeve and issued with cue sheets for radio presenters, the album was used for licence broadcast the week of June 24, 1984. The album features Duran Duran, who released their most successful single "The Reflex" in 1984.

Band connections include Frankie Goes To Hollywood, who Simon Le Bon and John Taylor joined on stage at the MTV New Year's Eve Rock'n'Roll Ball on December 31, 1984. Two years later in 1986, Le Bon would join Wham! on stage for their final concert at Wembley Stadium. Psychedelic Furs were included on the John Taylor and Nick Rhodes presented Only After Dark compilation album, recreating a night at the Rum Runner nightclub.
