About the album
Edit
The album is a recording of Duran Duran's performance at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, a 2000 capacity theatre that has been a live entertainment venue for over 100 years located in Shepherd's Bush Green. The concert was recorded by BBC Radio 2 and broadcast three days later on 10 March at 8:00pm.
The theatre doors opened at 7:00pm and Duran Duran took to the stage at 8:45pm, after support act Starsmith played an electro DJ set. Members of the audience included Simon Le Bon's daughters, Nick Rhodes' daughter and Roger Taylor's sons.
The band opened with a James Bond guitar medley that was first performed with Mark Ronson at the Experience Paris show in 2008, played as an introduction to "A View To A Kill". Two songs from All You Need Is Now were next, and the first ever live performance of "Mediterranea" soon followed.
The bootleg also features a four piece string section performing with the band on several tracks, including "Leave A Light On" with Simon Le Bon playing an acoustic guitar and commenting that he had just learnt a new song.
The show finished at 10:20pm after an encore of "Come Undone", followed by a medley of "Runway Runaway" and "Girls on Film".
Tickets for the event cost around £45.00 plus £4.50 booking charge.
